Kelp Bass

Also known as the "Calico Bass", this curious individual was intrigued by his reflection in my lens port as I made a safety stop after a dive on the NEL tower off San Diego.

This photo was taken during the 1996 Pacific Coast Underwater Photographic Championships, put on each August by the San Diego Council of Divers.
